Co-Owner and Director of Strength and Performance at Hyperthrive Athletics

Joseph Grinstain was born and raised in Sacramento and attended CSU Chico where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology - Movement Studies. During his time in Chico, Joe took over the role of Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Mavericks Athletic Development in Chico and helped run the CSU Chico softball team’s strength program his senior year.  He also held strength and conditioning internship positions at the University of Alabama (baseball), University of California Berkeley (football), Capital Strength and Performance in Sacramento, and Cressey Sports Performance in Boston.

Following college (and a series of internships), Joseph decided to return to his hometown where he and his two older brothers, Aaron and Nolan, opened Hyperthrive Athletics.  He is passionate about teaching how mental and physical health can contribute to a life well lived, and how the two can’t possibly be thought of separately.
